Saturday, March 13, 2010Hello everyone,We're looking forward to Sunday's Council meeting, as we're beginning work on our summer projects. We have several important items on the agenda, some of which are: a. The Chante' Project and Next Wellness Walk b. Work on the Three Sisters Garden Project c. Plans for Participation in Earth Day at Sawyer Point, Cincinnati d. Info Regarding Ft. Ancient e. Bill Boswell's Report on the Relief Trip to Cheyenne River Reservation f. Wakpala, S. D. 50th Anniversary Pow Wow This is the pow wow that Guy's mother, Lavorra Jones, started 50 years ago. Those who participated in the Clothing & School Supplies Drive last August were fortunate to have attended this traditional pow wow. Everyone enjoyed it very much. For those who might be interested, Bill Boswell will have information at the meeting regarding orders for T-shirts, polo shirts, and jackets for the Wakpala pow wow. Also, if any of you are interested in supporting the pow wow financially, Bill will have information about that at the meeting as well. For those of you who feel lucky, Mike Scott of Rosebud, one of our hosts during the Clothing & School Supplies Drive last August, will be donating a horse which will be raffled at the pow wow. As you can see, we have a busy agenda for the meeting, and we hope that you will make every effort to attend and help us to get started on this summer's projects. Remember, the meeting will be held tomorrow, Sunday March 14th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church, 860 Grange Hall Road, in Beavercreek. Hope to see you there!
