| Welcome Back The Thunders - March 2008 To All Lakota, Dakota, Nakota People and Their Relatives Hau, Mitakuye! On March 21th of 2008 we will gather again at the Sacred Mountain of the People ,Hehan Kaga Paha, in the Black Hills. We are especially concerned that the youth come home to the Hills with you. This is a ceremony to Welcome Back the Thunders, and to prepare for the year ahead of us. Nothing is more important then that the Young Men and Women take their place in this and other ceremonies to secure their place in our collective history and culture that is, to make a prayer for the People. We are also asking that the Tribal Historic Preservation Office staff from across the tribal lands to come and be with us to make this prayer. Your responsibility to our People is very important. We will join together at Sylvan Lake picnic grounds at 9:30 am for ceremony and preparations for our journey to the top. Please bring warm layers of clothing, good shoes to walk in, and a little water and snacks while hiking. We encourage the bringing of offerings, prayers, and your schools' traditional staffs. A meal for all will be readied during the day and everyone will be fed upon their return from the Mountain. For further information please contact Ms. Sandy Frazier @ 605-964-7340 (Cheyenne River), Mr. Russell Eagle Bear @ 605-747-2381 (Rosebud), Or Mr. Ben Rhodd @ 605-393-7329) (Black Hills).
